Amidst the current political, economic and social crisis in Oaxaca, Mexico, AVSI is saddened to see its local partner, DIJO, facing a severe educational crisis among the poor populations living in the city's surroundings. As the representative of DIJO in the United States, AVSI-USA has committed to supporting the emergency needs of the people of Oaxaca through DIJO and will support the efforts of volunteers and friends to raise funds for the newly established Educational Relief Fund: Building Oaxaca from the Foundations. AVSI-USA welcomes all initiatives and gestures to support this effort.
