The Helping Process: Training Manual for Social Workers (2012) In these last years AVSI social workers in charge of taking care of children and families and working in African countries have received a training conducted in many sessions, through which a helping process for families and children has been developed. During their work, the trainers have tried to fulfill the double task of handing over a working method, based on AVSI's experience and perspective, that adequately takes into account the value of human being as well as his/her relationships, and to introduce a vision, which is as scientifically rigorous as possible. This training module reflects the experience the trainers had in Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda and is meant to be a useful instrument for professionals working with families of vulnerable children.
