|Join AVSI in 10forSyria, make sure Syrian families are not abandoned|
We want a peaceful world. May no effort be spared in guaranteeing humanitarian assistance to those wounded by this terrible conflict, in particular those forced to flee and the many refugees in nearby countries. May humanitarian workers, charged with the task of alleviating the sufferings of these people, be granted access so as to provide the necessary aid.
To respond to the urgent and ongoing need as the number of Syrians seeking haven across the borders near 800,000 in Lebanon and 550,000 in Jordan, AVSI continues its efforts to serve the communities with whom its staff has long-standing relationships in the two countries.
As winter approaches, AVSI is focusing its efforts on the continued commitment to make sure Syrian children can attend school or educational activities in Lebanon, and on providing kits of supplies to make sure the families can stay warm as temperatures drop.
AVSI will continue its #10forSyria campaign that has reached already raised over $175,000 and helped 13,000 Syrians living in Lebanon or Jordan.
You can discover the power of 10 to reach out to the Syrian families who have fled the conflict and are now living in tents across the border in Lebanon. Find 10 friends to share the story on Facebook, or contribute $10 now or every month.
Just $10 can provide 2,000 liters of clean water, or an hour of lessons to help a child catch up at a new school.
A $50 contribution is enough to deliver food kits of 2 kg each of rice, beans and sugar and 2 liters of oil for 5 families.
You can also donate by check to AVSI-USA, 529 14th St. NW, Suite 994, Washington DC 20045, specifying “Syria” as reason for donation.
