Fiammetta Cappellini captures most votes as Woman of the Year 2011

Receiving 57% of the online votes, AVSI Country Representative in Haiti Fiammetta Cappellini received the recognition of thousands of supporters, as well as of the judges, as the Italian region Valle d'Aosta's "Woman of the Year" for 2011. Fiammetta attended the ceremony with the two other finalists in Aosta, Italy, on December 2, where it was announced that she won the prize as the most popular finalist.


In her profile on the award site, Fiammetta is described as "an Italian who found her second home in Haiti, where even a simple tent can become a place to begin to live and to hope again."
